Remarks
- Systematics: Paracoccus ezoensis Tanaka resembles Pa. myrtacearum Williams & Granara de Willink, 1992, in having dorsal oral rim tubular ducts widely distributed in the medial to submarginal areas, more than 10 pairs of cerarii, and in lacking a circulus. However, the new species differs from Pa. myrtacearum as follows (contrasting character states of Pa. myrtacearum are given in parentheses): (i) oral rim tubular ducts absent from venter (present on venter); and (ii) oral collar tubular ducts on the venter of two sizes (only one size). Paracoccus ezoensis also resembles Pa. ordinis Williams & Granara de Willink, 1992, Pa. kajiadoensis (De Lotto, 1961) and Pa. limuricus (De Lotto, 1961) in having dorsal oral rim tubular ducts widely distributed in the medial to submarginal areas and in having more than 10 pairs of cerarii. However, Pa. ezoensis differs from the other three species as follows (contrasting character states in the other three species are given in parentheses): (i) circulus absent (present); and (ii) oral rim tubular ducts absent from venter (oral rim tubular ducts present on venter). Furthermore, Pa. ezoensis also resembles Planococcus vovae (Nasonov, 1908) in having dorsal oral rim tubular ducts and more than 10 pairs of cerarii, and in lacking ventral oral rim tubular ducts. However, Pa. ezoensis differs from Pl. vovae as follows (contrasting character states in Pl. vovae are given in parentheses): (i) cerarii numbering only 15 to 17 pairs (18 pairs); (ii) circulus absent (present); and (iii) large type of ventral oral collar tubular ducts mostly present in marginal to submarginal areas of thorax and head (mostly absent from marginal to submarginal areas of thorax and head). - Structure: Slide-mounted adult female body elongate oval, 1.9 (1.5–1.9) mm long and 1.1 (0.8–1.1) mm wide; derm membranous; segmentation recognizable and well developed. Cerarii numbering 17 (15–17) pairs. Each anal lobe cerarius (C18) containing 2 conical cerarian setae, each 20–24 (18–25) μm long and about 4–5 (3–6) μm wide at base; 2–4 (1–4) auxiliary setae; and a concentration of 7–8 (6–9) trilocular pores. Anal lobes moderately developed, venter of each lobe with a long apical seta, 208–210 (198–218) μm long, and a well-developed and sclerotized anal lobe bar.
